Mazal Tov: Hebrew High

Mazal Tov to Hebrew High By Dora Lieberman Los Al Hebrew High's first class of graduating students are headed to some of America's top Universities. "And they deserve it." Says Rabbi Shmuel Marcus, director of the Hebrew High, "These students were the pioneers of the program, they have seen us grow from 8 students to sixty in just three short years."

According to Marcus, the Hebrew High program is considered to be a real feather-in-the-cap for these students on their college applications.

Hebrew High's new challenge is keeping in touch with students who have ventured into the world of campus life and hectic routines. "Hebrew High's affiliation and partnership with Chabad centers on most major campuses worldwide, creates the opportunity for these students to continue their Hebrew education and stay connected at a time, when perhaps, they will need it the most.

Hebrew High is the new supplemental High School program that provides students with foreign language credits and a meaningful Hebraic education. Founded in 2003 by Chabad in Los Alamitos, the school has since grown to 4 locations in California, with enrollment expected to reach over 100 students for the upcoming 07/08 semesters.

"Parents and teachers have the obligation to provide students with strong roots that can withstand the various winds and storms that can happen on campus or in the dorms." Said Rabbi Marcus via telephone from his Cypress home, "We hope that our students understand that graduation does not mean that we are done with learning, actually the opposite is true, this graduation means that now they can start learning on a whole new level!"
